LOOKING BEYOND THE COVID-19 CRISIS: QUALITY ASSURING ONLINE TEACHING AND LEARNING IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

The Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR), in collaboration with Education Sub Saharan Africa (ESSA), will host a series of webinars on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on higher education in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).

The first of the series will be held virtually on the 15th of September 2022 on the theme “Quality Assuring Online Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Institutions”.

The webinar series will share lessons learned from recent joint studies, programmatic interventions, and stakeholder engagements that ESSA and PASGR have spearheaded in collaboration with other African partners.

The aim of these studies was to understand how the COVID-19 epidemic affected higher education institutions (HEIs) in SSA and how and to what extent African universities overcame these obstacles to continue with programme delivery and research.

Policymakers, educators, students, funders, and other stakeholders will all be brought together by the webinar series to promote conversation and to co-develop solutions for challenges identified.
