PASGR’s Board of Directors periodically selects themes for African researchers to explore from a governance perspective. This is done with advice from an independent Research Committee and programme staff. Priority is given to development issues attracting attention in the region from policy actors and researchers. Areas where PASGR-supported research can add value by addressing important or overlooked governance issues or offering additional insights into the issues already addressed by others are emphasised.
Members of the Research Committee:
- Prof Alcinda Honwana is an anthropologist, lecturer, researcher and writer on children, youth and armed conflict in Mozambique and Angola.
- Prof Funmi Olonisakin is a Professor at King’s College London and Founding Director of the African Leadership Centre.
- Dr Tim Kelsall is a Research Fellow at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) specialising in political economy analysis and political anthropology.
- Prof Karuti Kanyinga is a development scholar and Associate Director of the Institute of Development Studies, University of Nairobi. He chairs the PASGR Research Committee.
