Interventions in Social Protection in Africa-What Works and What doesn’t?

Date: 28 Apr 2021

This is the second thematic convening in PASGR’s Inclusive and Just Social Protection in Africa Series supported and co-convened with the Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa. The first convening looked at innovations in Social Protection in Africa and the proceedings can be found here. This second convening will discuss the extent to which current social protection interventions have been responsive to issues of inequality and inclusivity, identifying what interventions have worked and those that haven’t in achieving equity and inclusiveness. With a focus on Western Africa, the webinar brings together experts in Social Protection viz. researchers, practitioners, funders and non-state actors to reflect the best mechanisms for achieving inclusivity and justice in Social Protection programmes and policies in Africa.
