Call for Applications for Travel Support – Workshop on Youth and Agricultural Transformation in the EAC: Challenges and Opportunities for Policy Change
SID is holding a workshop on Youth and Agricultural Transformation in the EAC: Challenges and Opportunities for Policy Change from 6th–8th June 2016 in Nairobi Kenya. The workshop aims to provide a forum for reflection and skill upgrading for youth leaders and young agropreneurs in conjunction with selected experts covering diverse sectors including research and academia, civil society and government.
Representatives of Civil Society Organizations and Social Movements are invited to apply for travel support by 23rd May 2016 in order to participate in the workshop. More details here
Matasa Fellows Network
The MasterCard Foundation, together with the Institute for Development Studies at Sussex University, has launched a call for proposals for the Matasa Fellows Network. Research bursaries for early-career African PhDs to engage in policy-oriented research are available through this management grant.
Over the coming year, 10 fellows will produce research papers focused on the broad subject of youth employment and entrepreneurship in Africa. Themes of interest include, but are not limited to: the role of financial inclusion, education and training, imagined futures, family and gender relations, agriculture, identity, policy dynamics, and rural and urban issues.
